    • Willowtree Apartments is a 40-unit subsidized apartment complex located in Idaho Falls, ID. The property was constructed in 1979 and consists of eight one-bedroom units, 24 two bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units, in five two story buildings, with eight units per building. Willowtree Apartments is a low-income family project which utilizes two subsidized rent programs. The eight one-bedroom units and four of the three-bedroom units are covered by a Rental Assistance contract with Rural Development (RD), an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which is automatically renewed every five years. The 24 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom units are covered under a Section 8 (HAP) contract with HUD, which has been continuously renewed by HUD since 1980.

      Willowtree Apartments is conveniently located within minutes to shopping, restaurants, employment, parks, schools and public transit. The Eastern Idaho Technical College is less than five minutes away, as well as the Grand Teton Mall, Target and Walmart.

      Design of the buildings is wood frame with a flat membrane roof and concrete foundations. The exteriors are vinyl siding with cedar facades that were painted in 2011. 35 new water heaters were installed in 2010 and units are regularly updated as they become vacant, with new carpet, linoleum, bathroom fixtures, painting and new appliances as necessary.

      Residents benefit from amenities such as: an on-site laundry facility, extra storage, electric heat, open floor plans and well maintained grounds.

      A new five year (HAP) contract began on 1/1/2012 and is set to expire on 12/31/2016. The existing (HAP) contract only applies to 28 of the 40 units.
